Like
Like the beauty of a rising sun
Over the snowy white mountain tops
You ascend to heavenly heights
And light my path with your radiance
Like a brilliant star in the somber night
A night filled with denied expectations and reclined invitations
I whisper to you my humble wishes
Finding comfort not in whether or not they are granted
But the fact that you listened to them
Like a crystal clear ocean tide
Warmly caressing my childish ways
You always greet me, no matter how much I resist
Mixing the troubled waters of my own heart
With the serenity of your seas
Like a sweet verse made by a gifted hand
Freely displaying heart and soul in each word
You embrace my fears, giving me courage,
And bring tears to my eyes from the purity of joy
Like a child I can not refuse you
For you are mother to my hidden child
And wife to my manhoods passion
You are everything in my world that is honest and true
Like the wind in my lungs and the river to my lips
You are what every man needs
But only few are fortunate enough to truly experience
Like all that is good in this world
I love you unconditionally and for eternity
